A Few Things I Learned So Your Arrival Can Be Smoother Than Mine

My first 24 hours in Aruba taught me a few things that I definitely want every Serenity Escape guest to know ahead of time. Aruba has been beautiful and the people have been incredibly helpful, but being financially and logistically prepared makes a BIG difference.

✈️ 1. Be Prepared for a Resort Deposit

Even when your accommodations are already reserved or paid for, the resort may require an incidental/security deposit at check-in.

In my case, the expected deposit was $538—something I wasn’t anticipating.

Serenity Tip: Before traveling, confirm:

The exact resort deposit amount
Whether it is a hold or an actual charge
What forms of payment are accepted
Whether the physical card must be present
When the hold/deposit is released
Do not assume that a prepaid room means no additional funds will be required at check-in.
